What does it look like to bear fruit?
In Abiding in the Vine, we take a deep dive into John 15, which tells us that if we abide in Christ, we will bear fruit. But what does that fruit look like? What do we look like when we are truly bearing fruit? Many of us see fruit as certain characteristics we must strive to achieve in order to look more like Jesus. Or you may think that fruit shows up only in the lives of specially selected people, and that you are not able to experience that fruit for yourself. Jesus says that bearing fruit is an assignment He has given all of us. Every one of us is to be fruitful and multiply. Furthermore, fruit is something He provides through us, not something we achieve on our own. We are to receive His life and then we will bear fruit as the result.
Through Fruit, More Fruit, Much Fruit, you will learn that the essence of abiding, life in the kingdom, and the covenant is rooted in the concept of fruit. We will discuss what fruit is, how we receive it, and how we are meant to give it away. As we search the scriptures more deeply, we will start to understand the depths of God’s purpose for us as believers. We will see how the supernatural plays out in our lives and will learn the conditions for bearing fruit. God desires to bless us so that we may become a blessing to others–bearing the fruit of our connection to Him.
