Division, strife, and conflict are things all of us experience, often on a regular basis. We have disagreements with those closest to us, and we typically deal with our differences of opinion either by judging one another and seeking to obtain our own will, or by caving to the other person’s will. Many

Christians see putting the other’s needs above our own as a holy approach. Others of us try to negotiate, conceding pieces of our desires and what we know to be true in order to find a solution that makes everybody somewhat happy. But all these things forsake the process of unity–an essential process to living in harmonious relationship with God and with our spouses. When we forsake unity, we forsake the will of God, allowing ourselves or our spouses to choose what is best instead of seeking God together. Furthermore, when we let go of the will of God in this way, we disconnect ourselves from

Him, subjecting ourselves to the troubles of the world. In this study, we will process discord, discuss how we handle disagreement, and then cover how we can make decisions together by maintaining a dialogue with God and receiving His will—based upon the gift of unity. God says that it is good and pleasant for brothers to dwell together in unity, for it is there that the Lord commands His blessing. That is the premise of receiving His wonderful, blessed will. If we get there—to unity—God commands blessing. This course will show us how to enter into this wonderful covenant relationship.
